Wanted: Backhoe and computer thefts
Nassau police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for the suspect or suspects in the theft of a backhoe from a Plainview property.
Police say that sometime between 8 a.m. Jan. 31, and 11:30 a.m. Feb. 10, the Caterpillar/CAT 450E backhoe was stolen from 115 Central Park Rd. Police say the backhoe has a 4-in-1 bucket that opens and closes on the front, and a 4-in-1 Wain Roy bucket on the back, which is unique.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
Suffolk police and its Crime Stoppers are looking for a man they said stole a computer from a store in Huntington Station.
On Jan. 10, police say the man in the surveillance photo stole a desktop computer valued at about $800 from the Apple Store at the Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington Station. Police say the man also had stolen a computer from the store Jan. 8.
