Nassau police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for a man wanted in two bank robberies.

Police say they believe that on Jan. 24 at 10:47 a.m., and again on March 28 at 1l a.m., the suspect, Carl Petronio, entered the banks -- a Bank of America in Lawrence and a Citibank in Cedarhurst, handed the teller a note demanding money -- and then left.

Petronio is described as 53 years old, about 5-foot-6 and 180 pounds, with salt and pepper hair, balding in front. He sometimes wears glasses.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at its toll-free and confidential hotline: 800-244-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers offers up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Suffolk police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for a suspect in a burglary at a Stony Brook restaurant.

Sometime between 11 p.m. April 20 and 3 a.m. Apr. 21, a suspect seen on surveillance tape broke into the Jake Starr Cafe at 1007 North Country Rd. in Stony Brook, and is believed to have stolen an empty Sharp brand cash register and an envelope containing $1,500.
