Nassau police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for six people involved in a burglary at a Franklin Square jewelry store.

Police said that about 12:40 p.m. on Aug. 5, a female suspect posed as a customer at Stein Family Jewelers at 1784 Hempstead Tpke., while five accomplices -- four women and a man -- distracted the employees, giving the first woman access to a restricted area.

She took approximately $11,000 in cash, a Longines watch worth about $1,000, scrap gold valued at $1,550 and other jewelry left by a customer for repair, police said.

Suffolk police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for a man wanted for stealing a large quantity of medications from a Selden drugstore.

Police say that on June 30, the suspect appears to have left the store with a plastic bag filled with unpaid merchandise. When a store employee tried to get the attention of the suspect, he left the store, and fled in a silver Honda Accord.

Surveillance videos show the suspect filling the bag with assorted medications.
