Wanted: Murder attempt; gas station robbery
Nassau police and their Crime Stoppers department are looking for a suspect in a New Cassel attempted murder case.
Around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 17, the victim, Michael Petit-Frere, known as "Piff," was leaving a party on Bond Street in New Cassel with three friends, when a man dressed in dark clothing stepped from behind a 6-foot hedge and fired three shots, police said. The shots hit Petit-Frere in the left temple. The suspect fled on foot, police said.

Suffolk police and their Crime Stoppers department are looking for three men involved in a gas station robbery.
On Dec. 19, three men walked into the USA Gas station at 616 Main St. in Port Jefferson. One of the men pulled out a small silver handgun and demanded money while the other two opened the cash register and took about $350, police said.
The three men were described as being 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-7 in height and with thin builds. One suspect wore a brown jacket with a light-colored hood. The second suspect wore a jersey with the number 22 on his left chest, and a hat. The third wore a blue jacket with white stripes on the shoulders.
