Wanted: Sought in robberies at church yard, laundry
Nassau police and their Crime Stoppers department are looking for a man who robbed a group of people playing in a schoolyard at a Floral Park church.
At about 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, the victims were playing in the yard of Our Lady of Victory Church, located at 2 Bellmore St., when they were approached by the suspect, who, at gunpoint, demanded their cell phones and money.
The subject is described as between 18 to 20 years old; about 5 feet, 7 inches tall; with a thin build; medium complexion; short, dark hair; and wearing a blue Yankees baseball cap and brown leather jacket. He left walking southbound on Bellmore Street.

Suffolk police and their Crime Stoppers department are looking for a man they say is responsible for a robbery at a Brentwood laundromat.
On Oct. 30, the man approached the victim and asked him to step outside of the Candlewood Laundromat. While outside, the suspect pulled out a folding knife and demanded the victim's cell phone before reaching into the man's pocket and taking $500 cash.
The suspect was described as about 30 years old, with a slim build, short black hair, and dark eyes. He was unshaven wearing a red hat, gray long sleeve shirt and blue jeans. He left the scene in a 1998 Nissan Quest with Virginia plates XKM 4710.
