She works in medical claims for 1199SEIU in Manhattan and is the daughter of Lisa Sumlin of the Bronx. The bridegroom is a student and the son of Sylvia and Wilford Barber of West Babylon. The bride earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Stony Brook University. The groom earned a bachelor's degree in computer science and a master's in business administration from Stony Brook University. They live in West Babylon.
