She is a special-education teacher and is the daughter of Paulette and Joseph LaFata of East Islip. The bridegroom is a certified public accountant and is an auditor in Manhattan. He is the son of Lee Ann and Mark Marra of Islip Terrace. The bride earned a bachelor's degree from Marist College and is pursuing a master's degree from Stony Brook University. The groom earned a bachelor's degree from Marist College. They live in Westchester County.
