Shoum-Teel

Karen Shoum and Lewis Woods Teel VIII were wed Sept. 4 at the Swan Club in Roslyn with a reception following. She is a post-doctoral clinical fellow at New York State Psychiatric Institute, Columbia University, and is the daughter of Rose and Steven Shoum of Massapequa. The groom is a doctoral candidate at Columbia University, a baritone singer, soloist and board member of the New York City Master Chorale, and is the son of Karen M. Teel of Walnut Creek, Calif., and the late Lewis Woods Teel VII. The bride earned a PhD in clinical psychology from Columbia University. The groom is pursuing a PhD in developmental psychology from Columbia University. They live in Manhattan.
