She is a literacy consultant for Teachers College Reading & Writing Project at Columbia University and is the daughter of Valerie and Lawrence Mercantini of Greenlawn. The bridegroom is the owner of Affordable Financial Services in Huntington and is the son of Josephine and Stuart Leibowitz of Dix Hills. The bride earned a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Cortland University. The groom graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School. They live in Huntington.
