Aloysius B. Cuyjet of Glen Cove was recently honored at the inaugural Leaders in Health Care Dinner Gala coordinated by the nonprofit Brooklyn-Queens-Long Island Area Health Education Center based on his efforts to help the organization "expose, encourage and inspire underserved youth." Cuyjet is senior vice president, chief health equity officer and chairman of the Institute for Healthcare Disparities, a part of NuHealth Nassau Health Care Corp. He is also a professor of clinical medicine at Stony Brook University and is chairman of the Association of Black Cardiologists.
