Barbara Gebhardt of Dix Hills recently received the First Mate Award from NewYorkBIO, a nonprofit trade association dedicated to the development and growth of New York State-based biotechnology-related industries and institutions. Gebhardt, who was honored for her support of bioscience in New York, is president and owner of Opus Staffing in Melville and has served on NewYorkBIO's board for nearly five years. She is also credited with developing a human resources educational track for six association annual meetings.
