Barbara Lehrer of Roslyn Harbor was recently honored at Queens-based Independence Residences' spring "Turning Dreams into Reality" gala based on her 40 years of dedication to improving the lives of individuals with special needs. Lehrer is president and founder of The Beacon Group, a Roslyn-based human resources management company that employs more than 300 clinicians and offers therapy services, management solutions and concierge services in various health-related fields. She began her career as a speech pathologist.
