Beatrix McKane of Centerport has received the Arthur J. Dixon Public Service Award from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants based on her efforts attaining a "high level of public service." McKane has been a society member since 1980 and also has served as a member of its board of directors, president of its Suffolk County chapter and chair of its task force on government audits. She has also served on boards of the Suffolk Community Council, the Hospice Care Network in Woodbury and the Long Island Regional Plan Association.
