Beatrix McKane of Centerport has received the Arthur J. Dixon Public Service Award from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants for distinguishing herself in community, charitable and civic activities. McKane, now retired, has been a society member since 1980 and has served on its board of directors and as president and treasurer of its Suffolk Chapter. She also currently serves on the board of directors of the Suffolk Community Council in Deer Park, the Hospice Care Network in Woodbury, and the Long Island Regional Plan Association.
