Brian MannixTeacher

Brian Mannix of Sea Cliff is one of three teachers nationwide to be named a 2010 Leader of the Year by Tech & Learning magazine for his "ability to persuade and inspire others." Mannix, a social studies teacher at South Middle School in Great Neck, codeveloped the Connected Classroom pilot program in which classes communicate via Skype with schools in New Jersey and South Carolina. He also initiated a program, called "The A-Kid-emy," in which students make a documentary on a school awards ceremony.
