Brian Mercadante of Glen Head was recently honored at the 29th annual Businessperson of the Year and Legislative Breakfast. He was recognized at the event, organized by the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, for his dedication and service to the community. Mercadante is the owner of Glen Cove-based furniture store Accent on The Home, which he opened in 1995, and has been a department store manager, assistant buyer and buyer for stores including Macy's and Gimbels. He is also a founder of the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District and has been president of the North Shore Historical Museum for 15 years.
