Bruce Stillman of Laurel Hollow received the 2010 Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize from Columbia University for "discovering the key molecular players and the principles that govern the process of genetic replication." He's president of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and has been director of its National Cancer Institute since 1992. He is best known for discovering the origin replication complex, a complex of proteins linked to the "unzipping" of a double helix and the replication of genetic material.
