Christopher DeRubio of Babylon recently received the Living the Mission Award from Catholic Health Services of Long Island for exemplifying the values of respect, justice, integrity and excellence. DeRubio, a security supervisor, also coordinates the organization's collection and delivery of deposit-redeemable bottles and cans to Wellspring Water in Bethpage and facilitates the recycling of toner cartridges to Jacob's Light Foundation in Ronkonkoma, which sends everyday supply packages to U.S. troops. In addition, he is a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph the Carpenter Council, Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society, and Babylon Village Historical Society.
