Cindy Aronstam of Sound Beach has been named 2012 Woman of the Year by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Long Island Chapter for raising nearly $25,000 in a fundraising campaign for cancer-related research, education and patient expenses. Aronstam, whose father died of pancreatic cancer, is a licensed real estate salesperson with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Mount Sinai, which she joined in 2010, and is a member of the National Association of Realtors. She is also a volunteer coordinator and board member of the Woodbury-based nonprofit Pet Peeves.
