Claire Millman of Plainview recently received Lifetime Achievement Awards from Brooklyn College, her alma mater, and the Association of Generational Experts for Seniors in recognition of her efforts regarding the implementation of tobacco-control legislation in New York. Millman is the founder and president of the Alliance for Smoke-Free Air and a charter member of the Tobacco Action Coalition of Long Island, for which she has previously served as media chair. She also has served six years as president of the Ms. New York Senior America Pageant and was a pageant finalist in 1995.
