Colleen Foley of Garden City recently received the School Board Service Award from SCOPE, a nonprofit chartered by the New York State Board of Regents to provide educational services to school districts. Foley -- who was honored for her service to her school community -- is the president and a 10-year member of Garden City Public School's Board of Education and is 20-year member of the district's PTA. She has also been a trustee with Garden City Estates Property Owners Association and works as a supervising school nurse in Elmont Union Free School District.
