Denise L. Sher of Hewlett Harbor was recently honored by Yashar, which is the attorneys' and judges' chapter for the Nassau County region of Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America. Sher, who was honored for her "outstanding accomplishments in the legal and Jewish communities," is a justice for the Nassau County Supreme Court and was the first woman judge elected as board president of Nassau County District Court Board of Judges. She has also served as supervising judge of the District Court and was appointed to the New York State Court of Claims by then-Gov. George E. Pataki in 2006.
