Donald J. Hendler of Brookville was honored last month at the 49th annual Heart Ball coordinated by the American Heart Association based on his efforts supporting and creating awareness about heart disease and stroke in the Long Island community. Hendler is president and CEO of Leviton Manufacturing Co., a Melville-based manufacturer of electrical and electronic wiring devices, data connectivity and energy management systems. He also has helped implement programs that promote physical activity, nutrition education and smoking cessation to make Leviton a "fit-friendly company," the association said.
