Donna Hallas of Levittown has been named 2010 Nurse Practitioner of the Year by the Nurse Practitioner Association of Long Island based on her "tireless efforts as a mentor and advocate in the field." Hallas is a clinical associate professor at the New York University's College of Nursing and is a pediatric nurse practitioner for SCO Family of Services in Glen Cove. She is also a founding member and past president of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners' Long Island Chapter.
