Dr. James R. Taylor Jr.Surgeon

Dr. James R. Taylor Jr. of Lloyd Harbor recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Heart Association for his "contributions to improving the heart health of Long Islanders," the organization said. Taylor is a professor and chief of cardiothoracic surgery at Stony Brook University's School of Medicine and co-director of SBU's Heart Institute. Prior to joining Stony Brook he served as vice chair of cardiothoracic surgery at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn and chair of cardiothoracic surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.
