Maria Arlinda Dias of Port Jefferson is one of three individuals to receive a 2011 Theodore Roosevelt Award from John T. Mather Memorial Hospital for her service to the Port Jefferson-based hospital and the communities it serves. Dias is a mental health specialist with a private practice in Mount Sinai and specializes in the application of cognitive-behavior therapy in the treatment of adolescent and adult anxiety, depression, addiction and couples therapy. She also has been a chairwoman and fundraiser for the hospital's Fortunato Breast Center for more than 10 years.
