Paul Eliot Harnick of East Hills has received the 2013 Cardiovascular Science Award from the American Heart Association in recognition of his dedication to "build healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke," the organization said. Harnick is a cardiologist at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, where he is president of the hospital's medical staff organization and a member of its board of directors. He is also a managing partner of Cardiovascular Medical Associates in Garden City and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians.
