Dr. Roger L. Simpson of Merrick recently received the Heroes in Health Award from the NuHealth Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Nassau Health Care Corp. (NuHealth), in recognition of his "excellence, commitment, and his long-standing relationship" to Nassau University Medical Center. Simpson is a partner and president of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group and holds the following positions at NUMC: director of residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery, chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery, director of the burn center, and chief of the hand surgery service. He is also a past president of NUMC's medical staff.
