Edwin J. Kliegman of Massapequa Park has received the Leon D. Alpern Leadership Award from the National Conference of Certified Public Accountant Practitioners in recognition of his many years of service to the profession and the organization. Kliegman, founder of Marcum & Kliegman in Melville, is also founder of the conference's Nassau/Suffolk Chapter and has served as president of the National Conference. He has also served as chair of several committees of the New York State Society of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs, as well as a program director for Accounting Today, a national business newspaper.
