Elaine Medin of Centereach recently won the 11th Annual Lifestyle Health Care Advocate Award from the Association of Hispanic Health Care Executives based on her efforts promoting nutrition. Medin is director of adult and continuing education for the Central Islip Union Free School District and vice president of Healthy Kitchen Inc., a local workshop in which she provides bilingual lectures and healthy cooking demonstrations. She also serves on the boards of the Suffolk County Police Department, Suffolk County Women's Business Enterprise Coalition and Fundación Hispanoamerica.
