Erin Bourguignon of Sayville recently received a Shining Star Award from the Long Island Health Network in recognition of her "leadership, excellence in communication, teamwork, self improvement, customer service, and problem solving." Bourguignon is a registered nurse, infection preventionist and pharmacy liaison for St. Catherine of Siena Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Smithtown, where she has worked since 2003. She was also instrumental in organizing the center's relief efforts during Tropical Storm Irene in 2011, center officials said.
