Evelyn Kalenscher of Roslyn Heights recently received the 2012 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award from the Nassau County Bar Association for donating hundreds of hours to represent indigent people facing eviction through the nonprofit Volunteer Lawyers Project. Kalenscher retired from her partnership in the firm Genoa, Kalenscher & Noto in 1995 and currently serves as chair of the association's ethics committee. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association's Real Property Committee and a board member of Yashar, which is the attorneys and judges' chapter of Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America.
