Gary E. Loesch of Sayville has been named 2011 Engineer of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York based on his service to the engineering profession and local community. Loesch is the executive vice president of Melville-based engineering firm H2M and has been an adjunct professor at Hofstra University in Hempstead. He has also been a member of the council for more than 20 years, has chaired its quality management committee, and currently serves on its risk-management and environment and energy committees.
