George C. Singfield of Bethpage has received the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award from Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities (ACLD) in Bethpage in recognition of his "tireless advocacy efforts and remarkable dedication to individuals with developmental disabilities," ACLD said. Singfield is an education consultant for the nonprofit; he helped it gain certification for its summer education program and served two terms as president of its professional advisory board. He previously served as principal of elementary and middle school programs at Berman School OFC in Freeport and has worked at The Children's Village in Dobbs Ferry and the Hawthorne Cedar Knolls School.
