Grace Simonette of Smithtown has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Long Island Council of Churches based on her leadership for the council's "Share the Harvest: Helping Neighbors in Need" fundraiser in November that benefited the Riverhead Food Pantry. During her career, Simonette has worked for the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, Family Residences and Essential Enterprises in Old Bethpage, and Developmental Disabilities Institute in Smithtown. She also leads tours to India through her company, Indian Journey With Grace.
