Heather Bernard of Medford recently received the Living the Mission Award from Catholic Health Services of Long Island for "exemplifying the values of respect, justice, integrity and excellence," the organization said. Bernard has been a certified nursing assistant since 1998, and a licensed practical nurse at Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitative Care Center on West Islip since 2008. She is also a member of Catholic Health Services and was nominated for the award by care center colleagues.
