James Gerald Dillon of Lynbrook was recently honored at the third annual Toys for Tots Holiday Gift Drive coordinated by Scotto Brothers, a Woodbury-based catering and reception company, based on his "exemplary" military service. Dillon is a decorated veteran of the U.S. Marines who served in World War II, and he later worked 36 years for Citibank. He is also co-founder of the Marine Corps League's Western Detachment and has volunteered with groups including Lynbrook's Centennial Committee, the American Legion's Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
