Jim Kaden of Huntington Station has been named Advocate of the Year by the New York State School Boards Association based on his "dedication to public education and tireless work on behalf of students." Kaden is president of the South Huntington Union Free School District's Board of Education, which he has served on for nearly 20 years, and has been unanimously elected to the position of board president every year since 1997. He is also the former president of the Nassau-Suffolk School Boards Association.
