Joan Czach of West Babylon was recently named Region 1 Administrator of the Year by U.S. Youth Soccer in recognition of her dedication and service to soccer. Czach is the executive director -- and previously volunteered as a division supervisor, cup chair and games chair -- for the Long Island Junior Soccer League, which inducted her into its Hall of Fame in 1994. Her career in youth soccer began in 1978 as an assistant coach, and later she was head coach of the West Babylon Panthers, which went on to win five state cup championships and 12 major tournament titles.
