Jodi deSantis-Helming of East Meadow recently received a Woman of Distinction Award from Assemb. Tom McKevitt (R-East Meadow) based on her dedication and service to local children. DeSantis-Helming is a learning specialist at Jackson Avenue Elementary School in Mineola and has worked in the Mineola Union Free School District for more than 20 years. She is also the author of the children's book "Take Three Miracles and Call Me in the Morning."
