John J. Desmond of Hauppauge was recently honored at an annual golf outing coordinated by St. John's University's Office of Alumni Relations for his career achievements. He graduated from St. John's in 1973 and is partner-in-charge at the Melville office of financial services firm Grant Thornton. He's also treasurer of the Boy Scouts' Theodore Roosevelt Council in Massapequa and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
