Judi Vining of Long Beach has received the 2013 Commissioners' Lifetime Service Award for Prevention from the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services for her "continued leadership, commitment and dedication to the field of addiction services," the organization said. Vining, a credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor, is the coalition coordinator for the Long Beach Medical Center Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking. She is also co-chair of the New York State Environmental Task Force and a member of the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America's National Social Host Advisory Board.
