Kali Chan of East Patchogue has received an Achievement in Communications Award from the International Association of Business Communicators' Long Island Chapter based on her "exceptional skill, enthusiasm and commitment to the field." Chan is director of media relations at Adelphi University in Garden City, which she joined in 2005, and previously worked as assistant director of communications and special events for the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. She is also on the board of directors of the Public Relations Professionals of Long Island.
