Karen Escolas of Port Washington recently received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching from Farmingdale State College chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher for serving the campus and students with "absolute excellence." Escolas, a certified and licensed medical technologist, is a professor and chairperson of Medical Laboratory Technology at the college and a consultant with the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. She is also author of a phlebotomy review book and is credited with developing a phlebotomy training program for North Shore-LIJ Health System.
