Durkin has worked as an associate broker with Century 21 Sherlock Homes since 1998. She is also active with the Rockville Centre Lions Club, is a sponsor of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Light the Night Walk" and is her company's representative at meetings of the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce.
