Ken Kern of Sound Beach was recently honored by the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation at its 23rd annual Coping and Caring Conference based on his work as a "compassionate advocate and case manager for those suffering with the disease." Kern is an elder law attorney at Melville-based law firm Genser Dubow Genser & Cona Llp. For the past two years, he has also been the legal guardian of a 71-year-old man suffering from increasing cognitive impairments caused by Alzheimer's disease.
