Kenar D. Jhaveri of Searingtown has received the 2013 Miriam Friedman Ben-David Award from the Association for Medical Education in Europe in recognition of his "significant contribution to medical education," the organization said. Jhaveri is an associate professor of medicine at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine and a member of the Division of Kidney Diseases and Hypertension at North Shore University Hospital and LIJ Medical Center. He is also editor of the official blog of the American Journal of Kidney Diseases and one of the founding members of the American Society of Nephrology's work group on onco-nephrology.
