Kito Lockwood of Lakeview was recently honored by the Lakeview Democratic Club for "being a distinguished individual who has made a difference" in his local community. Lockwood is a varsity football coach at Malverne High School, a monitor in the school's student support center, and co-founder and athletic director of the Malverne Wildcats youth football program. He is also credited with restructuring Malverne's football program to focus on character and developing "the student before the athlete," school officials said.
