L.B. ThompsonProfessor
L.B. Thompson of Greenport was one of 10 winners nationwide of a 2010 Whitling Writers' Award based on her "extraordinary talent and promise" as a young writer. Thompson is an adjunct professor of English in the School of Arts & Sciences at Dowling College in Oakdale and works as a freelance copy editor. She also has had her poetry appear in publications such as the Women's Review of Books and The New Yorker and is at work on a novel and a collection of essays.
