LaQuita Outlaw of Bohemia was recently honored as Woman of the Year in Education by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Suffolk County Chapter. Outlaw is principal at Bay Shore Middle School, a position she has held since 2005, and before that served as the school's assistant principal and as an instructional supervisor at Bay Shore High School. She is also co-president of the Suffolk County Middle School Principals Association, past president of the Long Island Association for Curriculum and Development, and is involved with the Long Island Black Educators Association.
